Senior's Tea – Book Signing and Readings
All seniors and other interested parties are invited to a SENIOR's TEA at Collegiate Heights Retirement Home, 95 Fauquier Avenue in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, on Thursday, May 15th. Research scientist and author, Dr. Gina Mohammed, will be reading and signing copies of her book, "CATNIP AND KEROSENE GRASS – What Plants Teach Us About Life", starting at two o'clock.
The plant world is rich with silent wisdom for our daily lives. Dr. Mohammed has studied the behaviour and physiology of plants for over 20 years and has distilled her observations into her book of 100 inspirational reflections. "Catnip & Kerosene Grass" draws upon scientific knowledge and anecdotal information about plants, to encourage and challenge people by relating some of the simple yet poignant lessons that we can take from plants and their ways.
Gina Mohammed holds a PhD in Biology (Plant Physiology) from Simon Fraser University in British Columbia and a BSc in Biology from the University of Toronto. She has been a research scientist for more than 20 years and has written over 120 articles for scientific and popular audiences, as well as several chapters in university textbooks. She is presently an advisor to the European Space Agency.
"Catnip and Kerosene Grass" is published in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario by Candlenut Books. Find excerpts, cover images, and author biography at our web site: www.CandlenutBooks.com
